Product Advertising Proofs: Checking Pack Sizes and Offer Details
A product advertisement can look finished while still containing an outdated pack image, an unclear quantity or an offer that differs from the destination page. A product-specific proof review helps the business owner and designer check what is being presented before the artwork is printed or scheduled online.
Use the current product reference
Ask the business owner to supply the exact product name, current packaging image and pack size being promoted. If several variants look similar, identify the approved one in the brief. Keep that reference alongside the artwork so the designer is not expected to infer details from a low-resolution image. Confirm whether the advertisement shows one item or a set.
Check commercial details independently
Have the person responsible for the offer confirm the quantity, price where applicable, dates and any conditions included in the artwork. Distinguish pack contents from a promotional bundle. Do not invent product benefits or carry a claim over from a previous campaign without approval. The design review and the factual review are separate tasks, even when the same person signs them off.
Inspect the final viewing size
Review the exported proof at its intended print size or on a phone for social use. Check whether the pack label, main message and important conditions remain readable after resizing. Avoid solving a crowded layout by reducing all the text. Prioritise information and agree any change in wording with the business owner before the designer creates alternative formats.
Compare the destination and retain the proof
Open the landing or contact destination and check that it explains the same product and offer. Verify the telephone number or WhatsApp route. Record the approved artwork version and the date-sensitive details that will need updating. When a campaign is reused, review the product reference again rather than treating an older approval as permanent.
